Ottawa Volunteers In Education

Regular one-to-one time with a caring volunteer helps kids shine, inside and outside the classroom.

Ottawa Volunteers in Education (OVIE) brings volunteers from the community into classrooms, to help educators ensure the academic success and well-being of their students. We recruit, screen, and train volunteers to provide much-needed one-to-one support for students with learning challenges (i.e., learning challenges, attention deficit disorders, English language learners, and more).  Volunteer provide classroom support in a variety of academic subjects, clubs and activities.

Browse through the volunteer opportunities and find a placement that best suits your interests and schedule, or simply apply on-line here and tell us what you’d like to be doing as a school volunteer and we will try to match it. There’s a special volunteer opportunity that’s right for you!

Please note that all volunteer positions require careful screening and a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC).  Not all applicants will be accepted.

All volunteer candidates must attend an Orientation session (with some exceptions). Please register here for the workshop that fits your schedule.
