Give Back to School gives community groups in Ottawa the opportunity to give back to the community where they work and live. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, we are so pleased to bring you this photo blog!
“Volunteering your time and being included in this type of scenario and learning process is so gratifying. Working alongside various classes and groups on projects, some which were new to the students, encouraging them, including them and showing them how hard work and teamwork can provide for such a successful outcome, in turn pushes me and our team at District to continue to be involved with this great program.” — Michael Morin, Commercial Property Manager at District Realty.
Look at them go. Ottawa By-law officers have taken part in Give Back to School since its very beginning in 2009!
Staff at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP love getting their hands dirty to beautify their community!
Thank you for beautifying W.E. Gowling Public School, Ottawa By-laws!
“We had a great time this year assisting with the construction of a flower planter box, and preparing the planter beds for new planting. We were interacting with three classes (Grade 4-6) who assisted with the process!” Michael and his co-workers, Kendra and Debra, from District Realty gave back to Devonshire Public School!
Borden Ladner Gervais LLP has been reading to students through our OttawaReads program for 16 years and are the founders of Give Back to School Day. Every June, they close off the school year by purchasing brand new books and handing them out to children, inspiring them at a young age to develop a love of reading.
To all our community partners who supported this initiative over the last decade: thank you! We cannot wait to see what the next ten years have in store for us.
Your donation today sets the stage for student success tomorrow. Your gift will help address critical issues facing children and youth, remove barriers to learning, and prepare local students for post-secondary success.
