You have a lifetime of experiences and a unique perspective. Consider volunteering at your neighbourhood school to help children learn. You may ‘the person’ in a child’s life who understands them. Teachers need community members to assist them during schools hours within the classroom.  If you are 65 and over, consider this unique opportunity.

The volunteers will get screened in the usual way but will attend a special orientation session allowing them to meet other volunteers in their area of the city and have the opportunity to attend gatherings to share stories and information.
If you know someone (spouse, friend, neighbour) who would benefit from helping students, please encourage them to volunteer in schools through this new ‘Seniors in Schools’ program.  Perhaps you can offer to travel together to the school each week!
